CANUTE COTTAGES

ONCE EXPERIENCED, NEVER FORGOTTEN

BRINGING A DOG TO CANUTE COTTAGES

You may bring a well behaved dog over 1 yr. old if you are happy to keep to this agreement :

  1. We ask you to keep your dog under control at all times.  - In the courtyard and surroundings keep it on a lead or right at heel to make sure it doesn't rush at other guests or invade their space as some adults as well as children are easily frightened by dogs. There is a ring near your front door that you can clip a lead to.  We have cattle and sheep grazing here from April to October - unleass your dog is 100% reliable, keep it on a lead anywhere near them.

  2. No dogs in the bedrooms or on the sofas or any other soft furniture, please!. Do bring with you sufficient towels and rugs to dry and clean your pet and to protect carpets etc. There is an outside tap/ hose by the corner of the Barn for dog washing. Dog hair gets everywhere so you will need to bring a comb and comb daily if your dog is hairy/moulting, and clean and vacuum thoroughly before you leave. Any damage, stains etc must be paid for in full.

  3. Dogs may only be left on their own in the cottages if they are quiet and settled, and for short periods only.

  4. Dogs that bark unduly, are aggressive to people or other animals or cause a nuisance or distress to other guests, are not welcome.

  5. Of course great care needs to be taken to ensure that there is no dog mess around the cottages and neighbouring area - do use the shovel by the laundry room. Throughout Cobnor, ensure that dog mess is removed, bagged and binned. There is a special bin by the footpath near the dinghy park that you can use, and use the large green waste bin at the back of the courtyard here.

  6. We have a wonderful array of birdlife at Cobnor and are involved in conservation work to encourage certain species of ground-nesting birds. Make sure your dog doesn't chase or disturb birds and in the breeding season (April to July) please keep your dog well-controlled, and on a lead through the wooded areas.

  7. Please ensure that your dog has been properly treated for fleas/worms before you arrive!

Finally, most dogs visiting Cobnor are beautifully behaved, have a wonderful time and bring pleasure to us all, and we hope you and your dog have a great holiday here!
