Terms & Conditions of Booking
Deposits All offers of accommodation are subject to availability and no booking can be accepted unless accompanied by a deposit of 25% of the tariff. The deposit is only refundable if the required accommodation is not available.
Payment The balance of the tariff must be paid 60 days before the date of arrival, with cheques being made payable to Canute Cottages, apart from Old Dairy Cottage, in which case payable to J.A.Beale. In the event of the balance not being paid by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and re-let the cottage. If re-letting cannot be arranged you will be liable for payment of the balance.
No credit card facilities, but payment can be made by bank transfer - ask for details.
Cancellations It is recommended that visitors take out their own cancellation insurance. An administration fee of £50 will be applicable for all cancellations.
Arrival & Departures Guests are requested not to arrive before 3pm at the start of their holiday and to depart by 10am (10.30 for disabled guests) at the end of their stay. All guests are expected to leave their accommodation clean and tidy when vacating. We may require a deposit cheque at the time of booking, which will be cashed if extra cleaning is required at the end of your stay (this will always apply to those bringing pets, and to group bookings of two or more cottages).
Keys These will be given to you on arrival. Please remember to return your keys on departure.
Breakages We would like to point out that the hirer is legally responsible for any damage or breakage. Any breakages must be notified and paid for.
Number of Guests Per Cottage The maximum number of guests (not counting a baby) allowed in each cottage is shown on the tariff particulars and extra guests cannot be accommodated.
Pets Quiet controlled dogs are allowed, at a cost of £15 per week. Owners must agree to a "Code of Conduct" and in addition a security deposit of £50 is requested.
Group Bookings
Any booking of two or more cottages will incur a security deposit and your signature to an agreement, details of which will be sent on booking. Canute Cottages is now pioneering a Community Payback scheme in support of The Chichester Harbour Trust. The Trust exists to protect the natural beauty and wildlife of the land around the harbour - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For each booking taken a nominal contribution of £1 will be added, and Canute Cottagees will then double the contribution to the Harbour Trust. The proprietors reserve the right to decline accommodation and to demand the immediate departure of any persons not complying with the conditions, or for any conduct detrimental to the property, or to the comfort of the other guests. Whilst every endeavour is made to ensure the particulars of our website, brochure and literature are correct, the proprietors cannot be held liable in respect of changes or alterations made. The proprietors are relieved of any liability for accidents to visitors, or loss or damage of their property. |
